2025 INTERVIEW/AUDITION INFORMATION
To interview/audition, please come by The 13th Gate, 832 St. Philip Street, Baton Rouge, LA between 9:00am and 5:00pm on any one of the following dates:
Saturday, August 30th
Sunday, August 31st
Saturday, September 6th
Sunday, September 7th
Saturday, September 13th
Sunday, September 14th
No appointment necessary!
Once you arrive, you will fill out an application and then wait to be called in for your interview/audition.
You MUST be at least 18 YEARS OLD (bring your ID), have TRANSPORTATION, EMAIL ADDRESS and be ENTHUSIASTIC!
On the application, you will be asked to list the nights you will be available to work for us.
Some staff are required to report to work at 5:00pm; however, ALL staff MUST report to work by 6:00pm on the nights that they are scheduled. No exceptions.
Work usually lasts till midnight or later. You must be able to work the entire shift from 6:00pm till close!
Again, your chances of being hired are greater if you are available to work ALL, or most, of the dates, and are…enthusiastic!
First and foremost, it is a job, but it's a fun job!
Actors:
Since we would like to see what you can do, we would like for each applicant to present a monologue, skit, or any talent that would make you stand out amongst the hundreds of people who apply. Limited to 1 minute!
It's not required, but it does help! Show us what ya got! This could be acting, singing, comedy, voices, accents, etc. We just want to get to know you and what you are capable of.
Your chances of getting hired are greater if you entertain us; otherwise, you are solely being hired only on an interview.
You must provide your own props/visuals.
If your resume is catered to the theater or the arts please bring it, however, it is not required.
If your dream is to act, The 13th Gate is a great place to begin or if you're already an actor, it's a great place to practice and have a blast performing in a unique show!
This is your chance to perform for thousands of people, a different audience every other minute, and play different roles.

Makeup Artists:
We are particularly looking for special effects makeup artists.
We would like to see examples of your work. If you have a portfolio or photographs (electronic is fine) catered to special effects, please bring that with you to the interview.
Makeup artists must report to work at 5:00pm each night to begin applying makeup to our actors. Makeup shifts last till about 8:00pm
Some makeup artists like to become part of the show as an actor and get in costume and makeup and work until we close around midnight, or later (on busy nights). If you would like this option, please let us know during your interview.

Hairstylists:
We are looking for hairstylists to shape and mold our actors’ hair into terrorific styles! Hairstylists are required to report to work at 5:00pm each night and are usually done by 8:00pm
Hairstylists MUST be Louisiana state licensed!
Hairstylists may also become part of the show as an actor and work until we close.
