Since 1994, Midnight Productions has been scaring and entertaining thousands of guests in Louisiana with their Haunted Attractions.

The original haunt, Louisiana Nightmares, opened in 1994 and continued to operate successfully for 10 years in Alexandria, Louisiana. In 2004, the attraction closed so the company could concentrate efforts on their larger attractions in Baton Rouge.

From 1998-2001, Midnight Productions featured large portable haunted houses on LSU Campus in association with the Louisiana 4H Foundation. These included The Dungeon, Carnevil I & II, Psychosis, and Psycho Cinema.

In 2002, they opened Louisiana's Ultimate Haunted House, The 13th Gate. Located at 832 St. Philip Street in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this 40,000 sq. ft. indoor & outdoor haunt continues to grow and be a screaming success. The 13th Gate has consistently been viewed as one of the top Haunted Attractions in the country.

From 2011 to 2017,  the company unveiled one of the most unique Haunted Attractions ever created: Necropolis 13. Necropolis 13 was a 40,000 sq ft New Orleans-style outdoor cemetery complete with over 400 zombie-infested crypts and mausoleums, nightly voodoo shows, and underground Catacombs and was located across the street from the main haunt.

In 2015, Midnight Productions opened up Baton Rouge's first Live Escape Game, 13th Gate Escape, next door to the haunted house. The first of its kind in the area, the games have been an instant year-round success and have continued to grow into 8 escape games and one very unique Virtual Reality Experience. Since its opening, several of the escape games have been internationally recognized as being some of the best in the world. 

In 2018, Necropolis 13 was replaced with Carnevil Haunted Midway. This area includes free nightly concerts and entertainment, 5 Minute Escape Games, Axe Throwing, Sinister Selfies, and much more!

The 13th Gate is a haunted attraction that is known for its extreme ultra-realism and is one of the most detailed haunted houses in existence. The artists behind the massive dark attraction are experts at blurring the lines between horror and reality, and guests frequently wonder between screams whether what they are experiencing is real or not. The attraction’s level of detail, set design, and effects combined with their impressive actors and incredible makeup effects can only be compared to a Hollywood movie. The attraction features a life-like pirate ship, hidden subterranean passages filled with live snakes, and even an outdoor, zombie-infested graveyard, all seamlessly woven together and nothing short of masterful. The haunted house is constantly changing and growing from year to year so guests never know what to expect around the next terrifying corner.

From exploring an old, abandoned asylum, to being lost in dark underground tunnels or even finding yourself standing on a rickety bridge overlooking hundreds of live snakes, this 40,000 square foot haunted house is definitely not recommended for the faint of heart (nor is it recommended for anyone who is pregnant, has a pre-existing heart condition, is very young, or has a weak bladder)!

During the off-season, the haunt employs a year-round movie industry construction crew, which includes award-winning Scenic Artists, Set Carpenters, Lighting and Sound Technicians, and Special Effects Artists. Many of these crewmembers have an extensive portfolio of Hollywood movies that they have been involved in and it is their artistic talents that have set The 13th Gate apart from most Haunted Attractions.

During the Halloween season, over 160 professional actors, 40 crew members and a team of special effects makeup artists work together to bring the terrifying show to life each night.
